This project focuses on not only preventing the a decrease in number of users but also attracting new users to YouTube Premium.
Therefore, We restructured existing functions and introduced key features to improve overall usability.
In addition to the user interviews, we meticulously analyzed the gathered data to better empathize with the pain points experienced by our users.
To gain insights into the common difficulties faced by YouTube Music users,
we conducted interviews.
These interviews ranged from 50 minutes to 5 userwith diverse usage patterns, including heavy users and beginners.
I hate that the app doesn’t include multiple select option!
It doesn’t make sense that a music app does not support that features.”
The contents arrangement always changes and this is pretty annoying. People use music app everyday like a hibit so we don’t want the arrangement chaning all the time."
We prioritized generating a multitude of ideas while staying mindful of the app's core design theme. We aimed to avoid significant deviations from the previous UI design to prevent confusion among existing users..
We initiated the UI design process with low-fidelity wireframes, emphasizing user information gathering through onboarding and core feature interactions.
Building upon the low-fidelity wireframes, we iteratively developed a high-fidelity prototype, consistently refining the design throughout the process.
To validate our ideas, we conducted usability tests and interviews with 5 participants. They were tasked with completing 7 main tasks, 14 small tasks, and responding to 15 open-ended questions using the prototype.
We complied the task results with google spreadsheet.
